Hampton Driveway
Hampton
A Hampton driveway shaped to avoid the look of a car park, combining generous parking with planting, paths and crisp boundary details.
The Brief
Function and beauty in the same front garden.
The driveway needed to work hard for several cars while still feeling like a designed landscape. Planting, porcelain paving, a new front boundary wall, railings and an automated sliding gate all helped give the space structure.
Design Thinking
Hand drawn before it is built.
Every project begins by hand, with drawings that explore how the garden should move, settle and feel before anything is built. The plan considers the house, the light, the views from inside and the quiet details that make a space feel personal rather than standard.
These early sketches shape the planting, materials, levels and moments of pause. They give the team a clear design language to build from, so the finished garden feels considered from the first line on paper to the final planting.
The Project
A softer approach to driveway design.
The main shingle drive gives a softer aesthetic and free-draining surface, while the porcelain threshold separates the pavement, house and drive. A sinuous path breaks up the rectilinear layout and softens a large expanse of gravel.
Design Response
Durable materials with security and detail.
The finished drive uses stabilised limestone, porcelain details, block paving and bespoke metalwork to create a practical space with a much more considered arrival.
